Lord Ganesha is considered first amongst all the Gods. Lord Ganesha is the Controller of Obstacles. No household or business among the hindus will not start any work before worshipping of Lord Ganesha. Every puja will start after invoking Lord Ganesha. Wednesday is dedicated to Lord Ganesha but devotees consider everyday auspicious to worship Lord Ganesha.
Devotees fast on wednesdays to please Lord Ganesha to get rid of all the hurdles, freedom from hindrances to the attainment of success on the path of spiritual life, or to the accomplishment of any good, or noble, or new undertaking, one has to greet and harmonize with that Power of God which eliminates failures from all endeavors, presides over and sucures success, victory and fulfilment.
Fasting process starts with sunrise and lasts till sunset. Devotees do puja to Lord Ganesha by offering Sandalwood, Red Sandalwood, Sindhoor, Durva, Laddu and Flowers. Goddess Durga should be worshipped along with Lord Ganesha. Devotees offer Vermilion (Cinabar), Durva Mala and Laddoo to Lord Ganesha.Laddoos are favourite dish to Lord Ganesha.
Devotees also worship cow and feed her Chapathi mixed with Jaggery on wednesdays.Devotees donate items like Green Cloth, Ghee, Bronze, Copper, Mishri to poor people.
Lord Ganesha mantra can be recited 108 times with the help of crystal beads in the hand during Puja and fasting period.
A mantra for beginning meditation or prayer or starting new enterprises or undertaking any new initiative is as follows:
“Om Ganeshaya Namah”
“Om Bu Buddhay Namah”
By chanting the mantras, we get rid of all the negative energy and surround ourselves with positive energy. There is no specific time or place to recite the mantras, but the most important rule while chanting the mantras is to chant them with full devotion and faith then you can see result on your own.
Mantra:
वक्र तुंड महाकाय, सूर्य कोटि समप्रभ:।
निर्विघ्नं कुरु मे देव शुभ कार्येषु सर्वदा ॥
द्वविमौ ग्रसते भूमिः सर्पो बिलशयानिवं।
राजानं चाविरोद्धारं ब्राह्मणं चाप्रवासिनम्॥
नमामि देवं सकलार्थदं तं सुवर्णवर्णं भुजगोपवीतम्ं।
गजाननं भास्करमेकदन्तं लम्बोदरं वारिभावसनं च॥
गजाननं भूतगणादिसेवितं कपित्थजम्बूफलचारु भक्षणम्ं।
उमासुतं शोकविनाशकारकं नमामि विघ्नेश्वरपादपङ्कजम्॥
एकदन्तं महाकायं लम्बोदरगजाननम्ं।
विध्ननाशकरं देवं हेरम्बं प्रणमाम्यहम्॥
रक्ष रक्ष गणाध्यक्ष रक्ष त्रैलोक्यरक्षकं।
भक्तानामभयं कर्ता त्राता भव भवार्णवात्॥
विघ्नेश्वराय वरदाय सुरप्रियाय लम्बोदराय सकलाय जगद्धितायं।
नागाननाय श्रुतियज्ञविभूषिताय गौरीसुताय गणनाथ नमो नमस्ते॥
केयूरिणं हारकिरीटजुष्टं चतुर्भुजं पाशवराभयानिं।
सृणिं वहन्तं गणपं त्रिनेत्रं सचामरस्त्रीयुगलेन युक्तम्॥
गजाननाय महसे प्रत्यूहतिमिरच्छिदे।
अपारकरुणापूरतरङ्गितदृशे नमः ॥
आवाहये तं गणराजदेवं रक्तोत्पलाभासमशेषवन्द्दम्।
विध्नान्तकं विध्नहरं गणेशं भजामि रौद्रं सहितं च सिद्धया ॥
पुराणपुरुषं देवं नानाक्रीडाकरं मुद्रा।
मायाविनां दुर्विभावयं मयूरेशं नमाम्यहम् ॥
परात्परं चिदानन्दं निर्विकारं हृदि स्थितम् ।
गुणातीतं गुणमयं मयूरेशं नमाम्यहम् ॥
प्रातः स्मरामि गणनाथमनाथबन्धुं सिन्दूरपूरपरिशोभितगण्डयुगमम् उद्दण्डविघ्नपरिखण्डनचण्डदण्ड माखण्डलादिसुरनायकवृन्दवन्द्यम् ॥
तमोयोगिनं रुद्ररूपं त्रिनेत्रं जगद्धारकं तारकं ज्ञानहेतुम्।
अनेकागमैः स्वं जनं बोधयन्तं सदा सर्वरूपं गणेशं नमामः ॥
